Dunkin’ Donuts opens 50th store in UAE

Dunkin’ Donuts, a leading coffee and baked goods chain, will be opening its fiftieth store in the UAE at Uptown Mirdiff in Dubai.
The new outlet, which will open for business shortly, will serve the full range of Dunkin’Donuts and Coffee, said a company official.
Dunkin' Donuts, started its UAE operations in 1997 has produced 60 million donuts and served 10 million cups of coffee in the country since then, he added.
Commenting on the company’s new outlet in Uptown Mirdiff, Michael Cortelletti, International Director, Europe & Middle East, Dunkin’ Brands, said, “UAE is an important market for the brand within the Middle East & Europe with ground-breaking innovation, like the opening of the first drive-through.”
“The highest concentration of Dunkin' Donuts stores has been achieved so far in the UAE,” he added.
A recent customer survey showed that nearly half (47 per cent) of its clientele in the UAE comprised UAE nationals and Arab expatriates while Asians accounted for around 23 per cent of its customer base.
The company’s UAE franchise follows the corporate objective of Dunkin’ Brands to be the Quick Quality leader in its industry, offering a higher evolution of the standard quick dining experience, with innovative product choices at the right price, served fresh, meeting the needs of people who are busy living.
Serving more than 3 million customers per day, Dunkin' Donuts has over 7,900 restaurants in 30 countries worldwide.
In 2007, Dunkin' Donuts' global system-wide sales were Dh19.45 billion ($5.3 billion). Based in Canton, Massachusetts, Dunkin' Donuts is a subsidiary of Dunkin' Brands.
To keep up with the growth, the company recently opened a large kitchen and warehouse facility in Sharjah with a capacity to produce 50 million donuts in a year.-TradeArabia News Service
