UAE debut for Alpine milk chocolate
Dubai, June 18, 2008
One of the most famous European milk chocolates is now available in UAE shops.
Kraft Foods has introduced its top-of-the-range milk chocolate, Milka, in the UAE market.
The name Milka, derived from the German words ‘Milch’ and ‘Cacao’ (milk and cocoa), goes back to 1901, when chocolatier, Philippe Suchard, introduced an Alpine milk chocolate in a lilac wrapper called Suchard Milka. The legacy of his creation has prevailed and today Milka is synonymous with the natural wonders of the Alps.
“Milka is a flagship brand for Kraft Foods in the chocolates category and we expect it will make a lasting impression on our consumers here. Milka has over 100 years of heritage as rich as its taste. It is quite simply an excellent premium chocolate that is made from the purest Alpine fresh milk to deliver the most tender, indulgent chocolate experience”, said Kraft Foods Middle East and Africa’s GCC marketing director Ahmed Yahya.
The chocolate is available in a unique flow-wrap package that guarantees longer lasting freshness. The 100gm tablets also have a unique re-close packaging, which makes it convenient to store.
Leading up to the introduction of Milka in the UAE market, Kraft Foods conducted a series of sales briefings for its distributors. Commenting on the impact that Milka is expected to make in the market, Gulf International marketing manager Puneet Sawhney said “We are very keen to begin the distribution of Milka, a leading European product that delivers superior consumer value. With the expected consumer acceptance we anticipate a high turnover”. – TradeArabia News Service
