Expo puts 'safety at work' in spotlight
Manama, June 15, 2008
Bahrain-based National Occupational Safety and Health Centre (OSHO) will take part in the 18th International Congress and Exhibition on Safety and Health at Work, to be held in Seoul, South Korea, from June 29 to July 2.
The event "Safety and health at work: A societal responsibility" is expected to attract more than 2,500 participants from over 55 countries. The participants will also include a few heads of states and government members.
Osho Centre will be represented at the event by president Alawi Shubbar, who described the company's participation as "an important step towards expanding the company's horizons into the global domain".
He also "emphasised the importance and effectiveness of participating in this global event for a company that has managed to establish itself as an active occupational safety and health solutions provider with several distinctive operations in the Middle East region and internationally".
The International Labour Fund nominated Alawi will present a paper during the conference.
Osho Centre also will be represented by Nada Alawi and Mohamed Alawi, who have already exhibited in most Gulf countries and England earlier this year.
The International Congress on Safety and Health at Work is the world's largest global event in occupational safety and health.
The event will be organised by the International Labour Organisation, the International Social Security Association, and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency.
