MTV Arabia shines at Promax awards

MTV Arabia, the premier youth channel in the region and a member of Arab Media Group's Arabian Television Network has won 5 awards at the annual PromaxArabiaBDA awards.
MTV Arabia, nominated for 9 different categories, took home the following awards: Gold for Best Out-Of-House Station image promo (Oud), Silver for Best Out-Of-House Station image promo (Debkeah), Gold for 'Something for Nothing' (Faces), Silver for Best Sound Design (Debkeah) and Silver for Best Interactive Promo (Hip Hopna Vote for your favorite artist).
Maryam Al Falasi, managing director of ATN said the awards were a clear indication that the company was moving in the right direction towards its primary target of communicating with and engaging the youth of the region.
"We were especially happy to receive an award for Hip Hopna, a show that speaks to the youth of our region and encourages them to express themselves artistically.”
To qualify for the 2008 Awards, entries must be produced for the Arabia Market or commissioned by Arabia-based company. The work must have gone on air during the eligibility period of December 1, 2006 to December 30, 2007.
