Bahrain has appointed Arab World's first Jewish female ambassador. Shura Council member Huda Nonoo will be the next ambassador to the United States.

'It is a great honour to have been appointed as the first female ambassador to the US and I am looking forward to meeting this challenge,' Nunu told the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

She said she was proud to serve her country 'first of all as a Bahraini.' The 43-year old mother of two, Nonoo has served in the Shura Council for three years.-TradeArabia News Service
