Manama, April 17, 2008
The Ministry of Works in Bahrain presented a paper on the execution of its strategy utilising the Balanced Scorecard and its role in driving and aligning the Kingdom’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) project.
Mark Ranford from the Strategic Planning Section (Office of Strategy Management) at the Ministry of Works presented the paper, titled ‘Ministry of Works Strategy’, during the second Middle East Conference & Exhibition on Intelligent Transport Systems.
Ranford reviewed the requirements of the Intelligent Transport System and its implications for the ministry’s vision and its alignment with the Kingdom’s aspirations.
He discussed the successes in integrating different projects - including ITS - to the Ministry Strategy Management, and specifically the utilisation of the balanced scorecard.
He highlighted the ministry’s mission, vision, and strategy in driving all initiatives and projects in the form of a strategy-focused organisation.
“The Balanced Scorecard methodology highlights how multiple sectors have been integrated at the corporate level into a single strategy aligned with National strategic vision,” said Ranford. – TradeArabia News Service
