DM, Dubai Properties sign agreement

Dubai, March 31, 2008

Dubai Municipality and Dubai Properties have agreed to set up a frame work of co-ordination between them in order for the latter to avail municipal services in the easiest manner.

This came in a memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed by Hussain Nasser Lootah, acting director general of Dubai Municipality and Hashim Al Dabal, executive chairman of Dubai Properties, in a ceremony on Monday at the municipal headquarters.

The MoU would facilitate easy provision of a variety of civic services to Dubai Properties including technical services in the fields of urban planning, land-use, surveying, regulation of contracting and consultancy professions.

It would also come handy in building licence, geographical information and data, lab inspections for engineering materials, environment services, marine data, drainage and irrigation services, public parks and horticulture services, and other services provided by Dubai Municipality.

In order to ensure a smooth and fast provision of the required services, both the departments will identify each other's responsibilities and liabilities in line with detailed and specific agreements to be signed later.

These agreements will identify the type and nature of each service the Dubai Properties wishes to avail and list the necessary time frame for providing the service as well as the financial remuneration for the same.

Highlighting the significance of the agreement, Lootah said the MoU comes as part of the Municipality's commitment to boost co-operation between the civic body and the different local government and non-government establishments in Dubai and its policy of simplifying procedures for providing better services to its customers.-TradeArabia News Service
