DSC backs Charity Bazaar
Dubai, March 8, 2008
Dubai Sports City (DSC) supported the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and Friends of Cancer Patients through its sponsorship of the Sixth Annual Charity Bazaar.
The event was organised by the International School of Creative Science (ISCS), a premier educational institute of the Bukhatir Group in Sharjah.
ISCS’s sixth annual charity bazaar was held from March 5 to 7 under the patronage of Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qassimi, wife of the ruler of Sharjah Dr Shaikh Sultan.
'It is always heartwarming to witness the increasing activity in the humanitarian field here in the UAE. And when the private sector contributes to this activity through its social responsibility programs, the outcome is more coverage and promotion of humanitarian work, thereby widening the scope of activities with a larger number of beneficiaries,” said Shaikha Jawaher.
'Dubai Sports City is a strong supporter of education and development among all areas of the community and we are keen on improving the social well-being of the country’s youth,” said president of Dubai Sports City Khaled Al Zarooni.
ISCS’s Sixth Charity Bazaar featured activities and entertainment for children of all ages in addition to a vast array of products, including handicrafts, household, toys, books and gift items for visitors to choose from.
All proceeds from the three-day event will provide much-needed assistance to the two non-profit organisations, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services - dedicated to providing therapy and educational services to people with special needs - and Friends of Cancer Patients - a charitable and volunteer foundation that provides moral, financial and practical support for those afflicted with cancer. – TradeArabia News Service
