Al Islami expands meat shop network

Dubai , February 27, 2008

Al Islami plans to expand its meat shop network across the UAE in collaboration with Union Co-operative Society.

The company will open its first meat shop at Union Coop’s Al-Wasl road branch, both the companies said in a joint statement.

“In line with Al Islami’s consolidated strategy to position Dubai as a standard in frozen meat market segment in the Middle East, we have accelerated our efforts to provide our consumers with high quality meat at the retail level”, said Al Islami Foods chief executive officer Saleh Abdullah Lootah.

“It has been a persistent demand from our consumers to provide them with fresh and credibly healthy meat, which has encouraged us to set up meat shops at their doorsteps. The consumers can now buy with confidence the real halal, fresh and nutrient meat from Al Islami outlets in the major Emirates of the UAE”, he said.

”After careful feasibility of the market, we have chosen Union Cooperative Society where Al Islami will establish meat shops”, said Lootah added.

The tie-up between Al Islami Foods and Union Cooperative Society also underscores the success of Al Islami’s business strategy for the UAE market as part of company’s five-year expansion plan into local and international markets.

Sourced directly from Australia, Brazil, India and Egypt under the supervision of Al Islami’s food experts designated in these countries, fresh and real halal veal, beef, chicken and mutton would be available at AI Islami Meat Shops present at major supermarkets across the UAE by end 2008.
