Ipra Gulf chapter picks Oman VP

Muscat, January 26, 2008

The International Public Relations Association (Ipra) has elected Hassan Al Saleh as association vice-president for Oman and member of the board of its Gulf Chapter.

Saleh is the managing partner of Trans-Arabian Creative Communications (TRACCS) in Oman. His term of office will be from 2008-2009.

A seasoned public relations professional and the leading PR practitioner in Oman, Saleh heads the fastest growing public relations firm in Oman and aims to build a dynamic indigenous public relations industry in the Sultanate.

“The IPRA appointment is a confirmation of the increasing importance of communications in the Sultanate of Oman within the regional public relations landscape,” Saleh noted.

“My plan is to enhance the understanding and appreciation of public relations as an essential and highly sophisticated discipline to create and deliver key communication messages and implement integrated marketing, positioning and public policy strategies through workshops featuring key industry thought leaders, interactive seminars and training programs,” he added.

He said the public relations in Oman was still in its infancy stage and only by stimulating the sharing of knowledge and expertise of practitioners in the Sultanate with their counterparts across the world that PR would be acknowledged as a credible and respected profession.

Newly elected IPRA-GC president, Faisal Al Zahrani, said his plan was to continue development of the association’s programs, increase membership drive within the Gulf countries, and invite leaders within the public relations industry to play a key role in promoting the association’s strategic goals and objectives.-TradeArabia News Service
