A guide to the world's leading business lawyers has ranked Clyde & Co a leader among law firms in the UAE.

It is the third such legal directory to do so over the past 12 months.

The Chambers Global guide is produced annually by UK-based legal publisher Chambers and Partners after extensive independent research and interviews with lawyers and clients.

A points-based analysis of the directory’s results ranks Clyde & Co in top place. The 2008 edition also reveals Clyde & Co as having more leading lawyers than any other law firm in the UAE. 

Top tier rankings are awarded to Clyde & Co for dispute resolution, intellectual property and real estate (including construction).

The directory also extols Clyde & Co as having “a lead in insurance, technology and franchising, while the firm’s historic dominance in shipping and transportation should not be overlooked”.

Within the past 12 months, the international legal directory ‘PLC Which Lawyer’ also listed Clyde & Co as the leading overall firm in the UAE, while another well known international legal directory, ‘Legal 500’, has ranked the company as the leading law firm in the UAE for the third successive year, a statement said.

The firm is highly recommended for its corporate and commercial practice where it is noted that the firm’s “proactive and solid team” is “fêted for its “professionalism, accuracy and punctuality”, while the banking & finance practice is noted for its “excellent regional pedigree”, it said. 

Accompanying commentary lauds the firm as having “an extremely good reputation in the region” and for winning “reassuringly solid client feedback”.

The directory notes that Clyde & Co has “grown to be one of the largest international players in the Middle East”, with lawyers that “garner praise for their “professionalism and accuracy”, while “loyal clients pledge: “We will keep going back to them”. - TradeArabia News Service
