Dubai, November 28, 2007
Dubai eGovernment has won the ‘Best eGovernment Programme in the Middle East’ award.
The award was presented during the inaugural Middle East Business Achievement Awards (MEBA Awards) at the Leaders in Dubai Summit.
The ‘Best eGovernment Programme’ award is presented to a Middle East eGovernment department that has demonstrated excellence in the use of the Internet and communications and information technology to provide a comprehensive range of services to the general population and business community.
The award, adjudicated by a jury panel comprised of internationally-recognised personalities, considered factors such as technological innovation, level of citizen participation, integration and efficiency, and user-friendliness of services.
“This prestigious award is testament to the quality of electronic services that Dubai eGovernment has offered over the years, and recognises the sincere dedication of everyone at Dubai eGovernment,” said eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment, Salem Al Shair.
“It wasn’t a difficult task for us to choose Dubai eGovernment as the best eGovernment programme in the region; they were way ahead of the rest in terms of information technology infrastructure, efficiency, number of electronic services offered and user-friendliness of services,” said vice-president, American Academy of Financial Management, who was part of the elite judging panel at the awards, Brett King.
