Pepsico chief visits DRC

Dubai Refreshments Company (DRC) recently hosted one of the most powerful businesswomen according to top magazines of the world.

The sole franchisee and distributor for PepsiCo products in Dubai invited PepsiCo International chairman and chief executive officer Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, the company said in a statement.

Voted one of the most powerful woman in business by Fortune magazine, Nooyi  also holds the distinction of being the fifth most powerful woman in the world, according to Forbes magazine's 2007 poll.

“Nooyi’s visit honours our long standing partnership with PepsiCo International. This is her first visit to DRC and it comes at a time when the UAE and regional markets have witnessed tremendous growth in the soft drinks industry. We appreciate her spending time with us and getting to know more about our facilities and capacity, “said Dubai Refreshments Company Chief Executive Officer Alan Salem.

Nooyi met Chairman Ahmed Abdulla Al Shafar, General Manager Hussam Doueiri, other board members, senior managers and officials of the company.

She also visited DRC’s facilities and attended a presentation on DRC’s history, growth strategies and expansion plans and state of the art bottling facility.

DRC’s product portfolio currently includes Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7UP, Diet 7UP, Mountain Dew, Mirinda Orange, Mirinda Green Apple, Mirinda Citrus, Shani, Evervess Soda, Evervess Tonic, Evervess Ginger Ale, Lipton ice and Aquafina pure drinking water. – TradeArabia News Service
