DEDC delegation for France forum

Dubai, November 21, 2007

A high-level Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC) team, led by its CEO Saed Al Awadi, is part of the UAE delegation for the UAE-France Partnership Forum.

The four-day event, which opened today (November 21) at the Paris’ Carousel of the Louvre, aims to reinforce the strong business ties between the two countries.

“Bilateral trade relations between the two countries have always been very strong and as we aim to increase exports from Dubai and the UAE, we want to attract French industrialists and investors to set up manufacturing facilities in the region,” said Al Awadi.

“Dubai’s free zones and investor-friendly policies compare favourably with the world’s best and we want some of the leading companies from different industry sectors to take advantage of these facilities,” he added.

Al Awadi said that exports from Dubai to France are up more than 52 per cent and this figure is expected to increase further. Some of the best performing sectors include textiles, stone, cement, ceramics and glass, as well as rubber and plastic products.

Al Awadi also shared DEDC’s strategy to increase non-oil exports from Dubai and explained the various major projects underway in the emirate, which will greatly enhance facilities and infrastructure for manufacturers and exporters.- TradeArabia News Service
