Bahrain gallery for top show
Manama, November 17, 2007
A Bahrain art gallery has been chosen to take part in a modern and contemporary art fair and exhibition, which aims to promote Arab art across the globe.
Albareh Art Gallery, Adliya, will feature at ArtParis, in Abu Dhabi, later this month.
The event takes place from November 27 to 29 and will feature a range of artists and paintings that reflect the diversity of the region, as well as the Islamic influences on art in the 20th Century.
It is being held at the Emirates Palace and is billed as one of the most important events of its kind in the Middle East.
The exhibition is being held under the patronage of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage has partnered with the Tourism Development and Investment Company to stage the event.
ArtParis aims to provide artists in the Arab world with a chance to develop ties with important players from the international art sector and promote the Middle East art market and cultural industries.
There will be a programme of events and activities, including exhibitions, networking events, educational workshops and courses with special tours of local galleries and art and cultural institutions.
Paintings, photography and sculpture will be exhibited to emphasise the varying trends in art over the last century. -TradeArabia News Service
