IT Security Conference opens in Sharjah

The fifth Middle East IT Security Conference (MEITSEC 2007) was inaugurated yesterday (November 12) by Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi.

The conference has been organised by Etisalat Academy and Sharjah Police and is being held at the American University of Sharjah.

The conference focuses on Law Enforcement’s role in fighting cyber terrorism before hosting workshops on November 14 and 15.

The event was attended by general manager of Sharjah Police Saleh Al Mutawa, CEO, Etisalat Services Holding, Ali Al Sharid, director general, TRA, Mohamed Nasir Al Ghanim, and general manager Etisalat Academy Dr Doaa Fares.

MEITSEC is widely regarded as one of the region's most prestigious information security events. The conference sheds light on the ever-changing data security landscape.

It is important for organisations involved in the design, development and deployment of information security solutions, for legislative and law enforcement institutions, finance and insurance establishments, and all security-conscious organizations.
