Tamani Hotels to showcase art
Dubai, October 2, 2007
Tamani Hotels and Resorts will provide a platform for showcasing works of art, particularly Islamic art, at its properties.
The hotel chain will promote local and international artistic talent with passion for Islamic and Middle Eastern Art by displaying pieces of art and artefacts at all of its properties, and by providing support and funding for upcoming talents, said a senior official.
The Dubai-based hotel chain, a unit of KM Holding, is busy putting together a pool of creative talents, all of whom will produce exclusive items to be showcased at Tamani Hotel properties.
“Tamani Hotels will be built around the principles of the beauty of Arabic and Islamic art and what art stands for. People who appreciate art will value Tamani where we project art in our interior design; where art, beauty and elegance are reflected in everything you will see at a Tamani destination. Our Tamani properties are all iconic, spectacular, modern, yet always carry the Tamani identity where arts are well reflected,” said Alain Guernier, chief executive officer of Tamani Hotels and Resorts.
Guest rooms will feature pieces of original art, be it a painting, ornament, elaborately carved piece of furniture, or an exquisite rug. Public spaces, such as the lobby, floor walkways and restaurant, will also showcase artistic talent. Each piece will be picked out with the use of creative lighting solutions to create a more dramatic effect.
“We will showcase exclusive items made specifically for Tamani, and with the Tamani brand values in mind. Our properties will be part hotel, part art exhibition,” Guernier explained.
Tamani Hotels and Resorts is also in the process of creating a special club called Tamani Arts Club where artists working on the theme of Islamic and Middle Eastern Arts can gather together to network and receive support and funding for their craft via art exhibitions organised by the club itself. Membership to the club is by invitation only.
All Tamani Hotels and Resorts, including the soon to open Tamani Hotel Marina, will offer an artistic component wherein certain public areas in the property will hang original paintings and display Islamic Art pieces made by artists based locally in the UAE and outside of the country.
Art enthusiasts are welcome to send their interests and work samples to Tamani Arts Club by visiting the website www.tamani.com, said Guernier.
The first property to open within the Tamani brand, the Tamani Hotel Marina Dubai, is scheduled to begin welcoming guests later this year. The five-star property, which will offer a selection of one-, two- and three-bedroom suites and four-bedroom penthouses ranging from 85 sq m to 330 sq m, is situated in close proximity to both Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City. In total, the hotel will offer 230 keys, and a total of 530 bedrooms.
The chain has an additional three properties under development in Dubai: Tamani Hotel Park Lane, Tamani Arts Hotel Business Bay and Tamani Hotel Marina Waterfront. –TradeArabia News Service
