Planters wins top landscape award

Dubai , September 19, 2007

Planters Horticulture, a leading Middle East interior landscaping company, has won the international landscaping award from the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).

The award was given in recognition for the interior landscaping of the 'Rain Forest' in the shortly to be opened Sharjah Botanical Museum, said an official spokesman.

This is not the first time that BALI has recognised Planters ability to successfully execute challenging interior landscaping design projects in what can only be termed as an 'extremely exigent climatic environment'.

Planters have been recipients of several BALI Awards over the last decade, including the Officers Club, Abu Dhabi and The Forest Walk, JW Marriot to name but a few.

BALI, the UK's representative trade association, works towards driving quality and awareness throughout the landscaping industry to continually raise and establish standards of excellence.

So exclusive is the BALI membership, it is only available to companies who pass a strict examination procedure that determines that the company's professional standard and quality of work is of the highest level.

Planters were amongst 130 entries nominated for the International Award category which they successfully went on to win.

'This is an exceptional and unique project. There are less than a handful of botanical exhibits like this in the world and as far as we are aware, many of these species have never been used in an interior landscaping scheme before; for example, plants such as Horse-tail - a weed in European gardens, but a very primitive plant and some unusual trees, such as Gingko biloba (Maidenhair tree),' said BALI general manager Jonathan Pardoe.

'Planters will definitely be entering one of its many high profile projects in the next years BALI Awards, with the anticipation of coming out on top again,' added Pardoe.- Trade Arabia News Service
