Qatar bans India poultry
Doha, August 2, 2007
Qatar's National Health Authority (NHA) has banned the import of all poultry products, including frozen chicken and eggs, from India.
The decision follows bird flu cases in some parts of India.
The NHA decision was in accordance with the recommendations of the Food Monitoring Joint Committee.
The panel also decided that all eggs imported from India be withdrawn from the market as a precautionary measure, a Qatar News Agency (QNA) report said.
