AmCham Bahrain appoints new board members
Manama, July 23, 2014
The American Chamber of Commerce Bahrain (AmCham Bahrain) has appointed Daniel Taylor and H Delano Roosevelt as new board members.
Taylor has also been made the director of individual members, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The announcement follows the chamber's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Capital Club.
"As an American citizen, a businessman and a long-term resident of Bahrain, I am pleased to serve on AmCham's board," Taylor said.
"My objectives are to deepen ties between business leaders from both countries and to seek to expand our reach and build stronger relationships both within and beyond our community, particularly among individual members," he added.
Roosevelt said he would work to help bolster the initiatives of AmCham and add value to the board using his many years of experience in assisting organisations and private investors in structuring cross-border transactions, technology transfers, and direct investments to the Middle East.
"I look forward to assisting my home country, Bahrain and our many members in their mission to attract and build successful businesses," he added.
AmCham Bahrain president Qays H Zu'bi, who presided over the meeting, said members noted chamber highlights like doubling of membership, increased visibility through major events, initiation of committees and roundtable discussions on issues of concern for members.
"Discussions on adding further value to members through strategic partnerships for the promotion of business between Bahrain and the US were also held," he added.
Also on the agenda were constitutional amendments, approving of audit reports and financial statements and good corporate governance. - TradeArabia News Service
