Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) recently honoured the winners of its first professional photography contest for 2014 where all employees were invited to submit photographs of Alba.

Hisham A. Razzaq from Casthouse clinched the first place in the contest followed by Abdulla Adel from Reduction Line 5 in the second place. The third prize went to Ahmed Al Balooshi from Power, while the fourth spot was bagged by Mohammed Al Rosani from Casthouse.

The Alba Professional Photography Contest 2014 was initiated in February, where all employees were invited to participate by submitting photographs of Alba.

The contest drew nearly 150 photos submitted by 31 employees and the winning photos were chosen after three selection rounds by the jury.

The jury team comprising two external judges and one internal judge --   Ali Al Marzooq, owner of Al Marzooq Photography and an expert Fashion and Industrial photographer; Mohammed Redha Al Asfoor, a professional photographer specialising in night shots and building photography and the founder of two local photography contests and galleries, and Hassan Haji, leading Photographer and Graphic & Design artist at Alba - gleaned the very best photos submitted in the contest.

Congratulating the winners, Alba’s chief operations officer, Isa Al Ansari said the contest was an ideal platform for the employees to showcase their photography skills.

"The event was a great success and we aim to establish a community of skilled photographers in the company as well as encourage employees to continue to showcase their talents," he added.

Organised by the Human Resources & Public Relations Department, the Alba Professional Photography Contest 2014 was supported by the Executive Management, Alba Labour Union and the Safety, Health & Environment Department. -TradeArabia News Service
