Royal India Luxury Show 2014 attracted top celebrities.

Indian luxury brands to invest $25m in UAE

DUBAI, December 15, 2014

Luxury brands from India are expected to invest $25 million in the UAE through new ventures and collaborations, said the event organisers of the recently concluded Royal India Luxury Show 2014 in Dubai, UAE.

A total of 22 hand-picked luxury brands from India took part in the second edition of Royal India Luxury Show, which was spread across a 22,000 sq ft exhibition space at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The second edition of the show, which recorded more than 1,360 visitors during its two-day run, contributed enormously towards enhancing awareness and recognition for India’s luxury facets among Arabs and Asians in the Middle East, particularly the UAE, a statement said.

Through its unique display and people-to-people format, and presence of a substantial number of affluent Emiratis, Arabs and expatriates, the event offered glimpses into the rich luxury portfolio of India in segments like travel, hospitality, weddings, fashion and lifestyle.

Yuvraj Sambhaji Chhatrapati Maharaj, scion of the Kolhapur ruling family, who opened the Show, said: “Royal India Luxury Show further enhances luxury tourism in India at a global marketplace and the Middle East, especially the UAE. The event helps project India’s exquisite luxury offerings in a unique way.”

“Expats in the UAE could give a fillip to Indian tourism by becoming brand ambassadors for the country. This is a wonderful show, and it gives people in the UAE a feel of India,” he added.

During the event, exhibitors leveraged real business opportunities and engaged in valuable business conversations, met new contacts, exchanged ideas, shared best practices and networked in a new environment.

The event featured networking sessions and a fashion segment. Four new business partnerships are being launched by Royal India Luxury Brands in 2015. Bookings by HNIs were confirmed by fashion designers, real estate consultants, luxury travel consultants and spa owners.

Royal India Luxury Show 2014 also offered its members 100 flying hours of air charter in India worth 1.5 million rupees ($24,000).

The organisers also launched the Royal India Luxury Show 2015 campaign that encourages every affluent Indian to invite one affluent expat family to visit India. This initiative led by the Royal India Luxury Show is aimed at boosting luxury tourism in India by 30 per cent in 2015.

T P Seetharam, Indian Ambassador to the UAE said: “Royal India Luxury Show was timed very well and happened soon after the announcement of visa on arrival for the UAE citizens to India. The decision is expected to give a big boost to the number of visitors to India, and luxury is one of the domains that will benefit from it." – TradeArabia News Service
