Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), has been named one of the 100 most influential people in artificial intelligence (AI) by TIME magazine, joining the likes of Google’s Sundar Pichai.

 

The annual TIME100 AI list highlights the most influential individuals in AI and celebrates innovators and visionaries shaping the future of the technology across various sectors.

Under Al Bannai’s leadership, the ATRC has driven transformative advancements in AI, particularly through the development of the Falcon LLM series by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ATRC’s applied research arm. Falcon, an open-source series of AI models, is designed to democratise access to AI technology, fostering global equity and ensuring its benefits are accessible to all.
