Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) will launch an online portal that offers access to QCC’s technical services and allows customers to apply, register and track the status of submitted applications at Gitex Technology Week in Dubai.

The event runs from October 14 to 18 at Dubai World Trade Center.

"Jawdah" is designed to allow customers to use the council’s services easily. The portal offers stakeholders, including manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, and retailers, a detailed step-by-step guide on how to register for various service categories, reported Emirates news agency Wam.

In addition, it shows users how to download required documents and how to follow up on submitted applications.

Dr Helal Humaid Al Kaabi, secretary-general of QCC, said: "Our participation in Gitex Technology Week 2018 came as a part of our ongoing efforts to support the strategic objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to build and ensure that the Abu Dhabi economy remains competitive, sustainable and diversified, supported by a solid quality infrastructure. It aims to highlight its programs and electronic systems that facilitate enhanced communication with all segments of society."

Al Kaabi added: "We launched the "Jawdah" portal to provide fast, easy, secure and convenient solutions that allow stakeholders to actively utilize our portal and to take advantage of our services more effectively. The portal includes cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions that help users to easily apply for our services and follow up on their submitted applications."

The portal integrates QCC’s core services, including product certification systems certification, as well as Emirates Metrology Institute services, legal metrology services and the registration of conformity assessment bodies.

Following the submission of a request for a particular QCC service, users are kept informed of progress through email notifications at each step of the process until the completion of the requested service. Applicants can also communicate with consultants and the portal team if they have further queries.

The Council also announced a revised version of its website that identifies the QCC’s technical e-services, such as conformity services, conformity laboratories, Jawdah, Manaa, and others.
