Tamkeen backs firms taking part in Gitex
MANAMA, July 9, 2017
Tamkeen, Bahrain’s labour fund, has signed an agreement with BTECH to provide support to companies wishing to participate in Bahrain's National Pavilion at the upcoming technology show Gitex 2017 in Dubai, UAE.
The event will be held from October 8 to 12 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, CEO of Tamkeen said: "Tamkeen's continued support of Bahrain's participation in Gitex stems from its keenness to promote Bahrain’s Information Communication Technology sector, which plays a significant role in raising the productivity and competitive capacity of private sector institutions. This allows them to extend their products and services to regional and international markets."
“Tamkeen is always keen to develop its programs and services, corresponding to the needs of the changing labour market. This sector provides ample opportunities to support developmental efforts, enhancing the role of the private sector in boosting the Kingdom’s economy,” he added.
Obaidly Al-Obaidly, chairman of BTECH stressed that Tamkeen's continuous support of Gitex participants has always contributed to the development of these companies as well as increasing their competitiveness and their sales.
“And this is in line with Tamkeen’s strategic objectives to develop support programs for the private sector, of which the ICT industry constitutes a high percentage,” Al-Obaidly explained, calling on various Bahraini ICT companies to take advantage of Tamkeen's support.
Ahmed Al-Hujairi, CEO of Worksmart, the organising company of Bahrain’s National Pavilion at Gitex said: “Tamkeen has always been our strong supporter in marking a distinguished Bahraini presence at Gitex, the international forum for IT professionals across the world, which consequently boosts the performance of the ICT industry in Bahrain.”
“Forty-five companies are expected to participate this year, an increase of nearly 50 per cent from the previous year. This will contribute to keeping abreast of global developments in the ICT sector and enhancing the presence of Bahrain’s IT industry in regional forums, increasing its contribution to national output,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
