UAE tech firm seals Zwipe partnership deal

DUBAI, October 17, 2016

Mawarid Technology, one of the UAE’s first homegrown technology platforms, has inked a technical and commercial partnership agreement with Zwipe, a global leader in biometric authentication technology.

The deal will see Zwipe’s full product portfolio of biometric authentication solutions being made available in the Middle East.

Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Zwipe develops and markets technology to verify a person’s identity through fingerprints. Today’s product portfolio includes access control, payments and government ID solutions.

On the partnership, Mohamed Al Nuaimi, the chairman of Mawarid Technology, said: "We are very excited to offer Zwipe’s innovative biometric solutions to the rapidly evolving Middle East technology market. Zwipe has easy to use and secure products, which will appeal strongly to our stakeholders."

"Having extensive experience and knowledge of the Middle East card market, we see Zwipe’s unique biometric solutions being quickly adopted and embraced by our customers," he stated.

Mawarid, he said, offers high-value, customised systems with integrated IT solutions and services, security and technology systems integration and payment systems solutions and services capabilities to governmental organizations as well as private and public sector companies in the Middle East.

It consists of three established and innovative enterprises: Falcon Eye Technology, Tacme and QuickNet. Combined, the group enterprises have detailed understanding of business and technology infrastructure in the Middle East region, noted Al Nuaimi.

“We are ready to deploy Zwipe’s technology and provide a more diverse set of solutions to our prestigious clients within the government, oil and gas and private markets across the Middle East. Through our partnership with Zwipe, we believe we can deliver more value to our clients and equip them to succeed in today’s ever-shifting technology environment,” he added.
