Mobily signs up Huawei for managed network services

RIYADH, February 24, 2016

Etihad Etisalat Mobily has signed a deal with Huawei for the provision of managed network services for a term of five years. 
 
The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress 2016, in Barcelona, Spain, said a statement.
 
Under the agreement, Huawei will manage Mobily network, including Radio Access, Core, Optical Transmission, VAS, IPTV and MPLS Network. 
 
The managed service portfolio for the above components include day-to-day operations and management, corrective and preventive field maintenance, system optimisation, change management and installation and upgrades among other deliverable. 
 
Mobily aims to exploit synergies developed by awarding this contract to ensure increased efficiencies within its network.
 
Ahmed Farroukh, chief executive officer, Mobily, said: “Over a period of past few years, Huawei has proven to be a trusted partner and service provider for us; as per our strategy, we are committed to explore synergies which lead to optimisation of performance and cost structure throughout our networks.
