Bahrain TRA floats draft on consumer dispute
MANAMA, December 21, 2015
Bahrain’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has issued a draft regulation on consumer dispute for public consultation.
The draft regulation aims to govern the submission, handling and resolution of disputes that arise between Subscribers and Licensed services providers.
“The TRA is mandated by the Telecommunications Law to handle consumer disputes between Subscribers and service providers. This regulation will set out the principles and procedures of how TRA will handle consumer disputes related to telecommunication services,” said Amjad Elnayal, TRA’s manager of Consumer Protection Affairs.
“It is the TRA’s policy to encourage transparency and participation in decision making, therefore we strongly urge interested parties, especially consumers and consumers groups, to take part in formulating this regulation by providing their opinions and feedback,” he added.
Interested stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft regulation and provide feedback to TRA. All comments should be submitted to TRA by January 21, 2016. This consultation document can be viewed on the TRA’s website tra.org.bh, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
