Bahrain's leading telecommunication operator Batelco has backed the Ministry of Education's Digital Empowerment in Education event, in line with its commitment to educational initiatives.

It is an extension of the King Hamad Schools of the Future project with its aim to establish information and communications technology (ICT) as part of the national curriculum, said a statement.

The project was launched recently at Shaikh Isa Cultural Hall with Ministry of Education representatives and representatives from 16 schools from across Bahrain in attendance.

Donya Al-Ansari, Batelco Enterprise Division acting in-charge, said that Batelco as a key partner for the educational sector in Bahrain was very pleased to support such a worthy initiative.

“Batelco continues to facilitate and enable the advancement of education through introducing the latest ICT technologies and investment in reliable networks backed up by Batelco’s robust backbone and support teams.”

“We believe in the value of the Digital Empowerment in Education project and fully support the Ministry of Education’s futuristic initiatives that are aiming at elevating the educational system in Bahrain through establishing a strong ICT enabled curriculum for all local students,” she said.

The Digital Empowerment project also supports the kingdom’s 2030 vision with its aspirations for the future of Bahrain and in particular its sound principles for a sustainable and competitive environment, the statement added. - TradeArabia News Service
