Ericsson showcases mobile tech in Egypt roadshow

CAIRO, October 8, 2015

Ericsson showcased its new Mini-Link 6352 mobile networks technology offering state of the art capacity with 5Gbps (Giga bit per second) in one radio, through  demonstrations at a roadshow in Cairo, Egypt.

The Ericsson Region Middle East Mini-Link roadshow was attended by representatives from the three Egyptian mobile operators: Vodafone, Mobinil and Etisalat as well as the fixed lines operator Telecom Egypt. The National Telecom Regulatory Authority “NTRA” also joined the event to get an update in the global spectrum status for microwave links.

“We are very happy to have Ericsson Region Middle East Mini-Link roadshow’s first stop in Cairo, Egypt,” said Isil Yalcin, president, Ericsson North East Africa.

“This is part of our commitment towards the Egyptian market as well as our strong belief that this market has a great growth potential in the Telecom arena. Ericsson expects that Microwave will continue to be a major mobile backhaul component, connecting around 50 per cent of all radio sites in 2019,” she added.

Through this technology operators will have modernised network without any bottlenecks, offering the end users better and enhanced user experience.

The roadshow will continue to cover more countries across the region during the coming months. – TradeArabia News Service
