StarLink enhances IT security for UAE healthcare sector

DUBAI, August 7, 2015

StarLink , a leading security-specialised ‘true’ value-added-distributor (VAD), has observed notable growth in revenue from several large deals in the UAE healthcare sector this year.

In recent years, significant regulation has been introduced globally to companies in the healthcare vertical, which has also been under attack for some time, and accounted for 43 per cent of all major breaches in 2014, according to the Ponemon Institute, said the statement.

It seems that this year will be another very challenging year for the industry in terms of IT security, which must be prioritised, or organisations risk getting breached, or penalised for not adhering to compliance, it said.

Zayed Ali, UAE country manager, Starlink, said: ”Through our channel partners, this year we have been engaged with some of the largest Healthcare providers in the UAE, and have collectively assisted them in successfully deploying best-of-breed IT Security technology in order to secure their sensitive data and protect them against next-generation threats." said Zayed Alji, UAE Country Manager at StarLink.”

Avinash Advani, vice president - Business Strategy at StarLink, said: "Unfortunately, protecting sensitive Healthcare data is challenging for customers with the number of devices, tools, and sites containing personal and medical data, all connected to the Internet.

“So securing IoT/IoE and mobile devices, protection from APTs, and endpoint encryption due to devices and files being stolen, are all critical technology areas that have been implemented. Simultaneously organizations are looking for effective multi-layered defense-in-depth IT Security architectures, while balancing their employees' need for fast access to data and applications." - TradeArabia News Service
