Microsoft has launched the final version of Office 2016 for Mac in the UAE as part of its efforts to make the software available across all devices and platforms.

Office 2016 for Mac is now available in 139 countries and in 19 languages, with the Arabic version expected later this year, said a statement from Microsoft.

It also added that Office 365 subscribers can get the newest version of Office for Mac immediately.

Microsoft has made major updates to each of the apps based on over 100,000 feedback pieces from the Mac Office preview that was launched in March, said the statement.

Office 2016 for Mac features significant improvements in performance and stability, it said.

The new versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote provide the best of both worlds for Mac users, with the familiar Office experience paired with the best of Mac.

The current users of Office on PCs and iPad will find Office 2016 for Mac easy to navigate with the familiar ribbon interface and powerful task panes.

The new Office integrates Mac capabilities like Full Screen view and Multi-Touch gestures, it said.

Office for Mac features cloud-connect capabilities, enabling users to quickly access the documents which were recently used on other devices and pick up where they left off, and the new built-in document sharing tools make it easy to invite teammates to work on a document together, said the statement.

Office for Mac offers compatibility with Office on PCs, tablets, phones and online, dismissing any chance of losing content or formatting, it added.

Ihsan Anabtawi, regional manager - applications and services at Microsoft Gulf, said: “Microsoft has gone a long way to give Mac users a better experience with the Office 2016 for Mac to echo our deep commitment in enabling people and organisations to do more and achieve more with Microsoft offerings.

“We have added features like improved mail merge in Word, propose new time in Outlook and support for external data connections in Excel,” he said.

“Users will now seamlessly work across devices and platforms with similar interfaces, while the cloud connection that comes with Office 2016 for Mac will help to enhance collaboration, leading to increased productivity,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
