Ooredoo delivers upgraded network security for businesses

MUSCAT, May 12, 2015

Leading telecommunications company Ooredoo is set to raise the bar for network security in Oman by providing protection against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

The system will tighten network security for Ooredoo Internet Enterprise corporate customers and maintain a strong defence against cyber threats, said a statement.

This new security will enhance Ooredoo’s 24/7 network surveillance and provide customers with access to Ooredoo’s IT security professionals as well as a secure chest that allows identified threats to be monitored, it said.

Using advanced technology, the DDoS Managed Security shield is also equipped with early detection and elimination capabilities.

AbdulAziz Jaffar, director of IT and informational systems management, said: “We live in a world where companies need watertight security systems to protect their business interests from malicious threats. With the rise of internet attacks, it is essential for our corporate customers to have the very best security on the market.

“Network attacks can result in significant loss of revenue and downtime. Our upgraded system is the answer to those threats, keeping the corporate information of our clients safe and sound.” - TradeArabia News Service
