NEC to showcase smart city solutions at Intersec

LONDON/TOKYO, January 13, 2015

Japan’s NEC Corporation will showcase a wide range of solutions for society, including advanced security and social infrastructure solutions, at the upcoming Intersec 2015 (International Trade Fair for Security and Safety) in Dubai, UAE.

The event will run at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from January 18 to 25.

Under the theme “We Make Cities Safer,” NEC is demonstrating a portfolio that includes its NeoFace face recognition technology, video analytics technologies and a broad range of cutting-edge systems for sensing, networking and information processing.

NEC’s biometric solutions are used in over 40 countries worldwide, including for government functions, such as a national ID system in South Africa, and for law enforcement, such as city police departments in the US. NEC’s solutions can also be applied in the consumer sector for VIP identification in hotels and restaurants and display screen marketing applications, a statement said.

During the show, NEC will also demonstrate its smart energy solutions as well as its water leak detection solution for efficient management of aging water pipes, enabling leaks to be easily identified and repaired, thereby reducing water and economic losses.

“NEC’s technologies contribute to the safety and security of daily necessities that extend everywhere from water and electricity supplies to shopping mall and airport security,” said Noboru Takahashi, president of NEC Saudi Arabia.

“Intersec provides NEC with an ideal platform to reach a global audience in need of advanced solutions for a wide range of safety and infrastructure demands.”

Established in 1999, Intersec is the world’s leading safety and security exhibition, featuring more than 1,200 exhibitors. – TradeArabia News Service
