Bentley Systems launches its ‘Map Mobile’

DUBAI, December 29, 2014

Bentley Systems has launched its new ‘Bentley Map Mobile,’ which is enabling field workers to quickly access and redline large, up-to-date geospatial and business datasets on iOS and Android tablets.

The two most significant updates in this latest release are the ability to redline in the field, as well as to quickly transfer delta changes to the tablet, said a statement.

The delta transfer capability eliminates the need with any update to download the entire data set, it said.

Robert Mankowski, vice president of simulation product management, Bentley Systems, said: “Thousands of edits made to a DGN file in the main office can be transferred to a mobile tablet device, such as an iPad, in just seconds.

“Field personnel can then redline on those same tablets and directly communicate those notations back to the main office.”

Bentley Map Mobile is for field personnel of all types, including inspectors, maintenance crews, and construction professionals.

It allows users to view, measure, and redline intelligent geospatial and engineering information in the field improving accuracy for the entire project team’s benefit.

Ultimately, this unification of field and office workflows reduces errors, which improves project and service outcomes. Bentley Map Mobile ensures a single source of truth in the field, with or without network connectivity. - TradeArabia News Service
