Ericsson wins ‘African Vendor of the Year’ award

DUBAI, December 5, 2014

Ericsson, a leading provider of communications technology and services, has won the ‘African Vendor of the Year’ honour at the CommsMEA Awards 2014 recently.

The award, which recognises the company’s contributions to the development of the information and communications technology (ICT) sector in Africa, was accepted by Isil Yalcin, president, Ericsson North East Africa, said a statement.

The annual CommsMEA Awards recognise organisations that have helped turn the communications sector in the Middle East and Africa into one of the most dynamic and vibrant in the world.

Rasiah Ibrahim, president, Ericsson Middle East region, said: “Our industry has an indisputable effect on the way our world is growing and changing for the better, as connectivity drives productivity and empowers communities by providing them with access to knowledge that may have previously been out of reach.
