Abu Dhabi, October 8, 2014
UAE’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) has launched the second phase of Terrestrial Trunked Radio (Tetra) development project for mobile communication systems in the Northern Emirates, which serves the police and leaders of its various sectors.
Major General Dr Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, deputy director of Electronics and Telecommunications Services, stressed the keenness of the police leadership to utilise the latest technologies in providing premium services to the public, streamlining procedures, saving time and effort, and keeping up with the many fields of cultural growth in the UAE.
“The MoI aims to provide various services to all sectors of society, and is constantly striving to develop these services to keep pace with the latest international scientific and technological advancements,” said Dr Al Raisi.
“The MoI also utilises advanced technologies in various fields of police work in order to elevate the levels of the security services that are provided to the public, which comes as part of the directives of the police leadership as a mainstay of police work and to upgrade security and police work,” he said.
The launch follows the review of surveys, technical studies, construction and engineering projects, and new opportunities for the Federal Government in the Northern Emirates, said a statement.
The second phase aligns with the strategic goals of the ministry and with the quality services of the various sectors and departments the MoI provides to the public; and supports the further achievement of the requirements for prompt and exceptional responses for services.
The project will serve all sectors of the MoI, including the Police General Headquarters; the Civil Defense Sectors; the Naturalization, Residency and Foreigners Affairs Sectors; and additionally will provide premium services to the recently established National Ambulance service.
Colonel Salah Ahmed Mireich, head of the project’s main team, said the MoI is paying special attention to the development of their services, technologies, and to its citizen staff members. Such attention contributes to the achievement of the vision, message, goals, and values of the ministry and fulfills the requirements of the Federal Government.
“The project is being coordinated with strategic partners and all of the governmental departments, federal and local. Seven work teams have been created with relevant roles, duties, authorisations, and jurisdictions in specific areas to implement the project requirements of the citizen staff of the Electronics and Telecommunications Services Directorate General.”
Major Salem Abdullah Saqr, head of the Quality and Occupational Safety team of the project, said that the teams were created on the basis of the ministry’s approved methodologies and policies, and in accordance with the performance quality and excellence standards. - TradeArabia News Service
