Sony launches world’s ‘slimmest’ 1TB HDD

Manama, August 21, 2014

Sony Middle East and Africa has launched the new HD-S1A, claimed to be the world’s slimmest 1TB portable hard disk drive (HDD).

The sleek device, weighing 155gm and only 8.7mm thick, snugly fits into the pocket or laptop sleeve, the company said.

The HDD is available in black and silver colours, it said.

To protect data from security risks, the external HDD comes packed with a host of smart utility solutions such as the ‘Password Protection Manager’ that ensures the protection of data, and the ‘Backup Manager’ for automatic back up of data stored in the PC, a statement said.

The software also allows for the selective back up of modified or added data. The ‘Data Transfer Accelerator’ enables faster data transfer from the PC via the USB 3.0 cable, it said. – TradeArabia News Service
