UAE-based telecom operator Etisalat has launched a new Wasel promotion today, offering Wasel prepaid customers the chance to get back 100 per cent spends made on local calls, as free credit.

During the promotion that starts today, for every fils spent on a local call, the same value of bonus will be immediately credited back to the customer’s Wasel account. Once customers accumulate Dh3 ($0.8) or more of free credit, they can use it to make international calls to any country in the world.

The promotion is open to all Wasel customers and subscription is free of charge.

Etisalat also announced enhancements to its popular ‘Call International, Pay Local’ offer, extending it to cover additional networks. Launched last year, the offer enables Wasel prepaid customers to make calls to 11 countries at local calling rates at any time of the day, helping them realize huge savings on their international calls.

With the new enhancements, subscribers to this offer can enjoy the local rate advantage when calling all networks in Egypt, Afghanistan, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, and Iran, and Etisalat networks in Sri Lanka and Nigeria.

The enhancements will be automatically enabled for customers already subscribed to the offer.

Starting July 8, international calls made by all Wasel prepaid customers subscribed to the ‘Call International, Pay Local’ offer will be charged the usual Dh1 set up fee and 0.6 fils per second thereafter. – TradeArabia News Service
