Entrepreneurship in focus at iTECH forum
Manama, April 7, 2014
Entrepreneurship in the growing IT and ICT sectors of the northern Gulf will take centre stage at the inaugural iTECH Gulf Forum 2014, being held in Bahrain this week.
An ‘i-Ntrepreneurs Day’ will be held on April 10, when leading IT and ICT entrepreneurs will take part in a series of unique workshops designed specifically to help them focus their skills on key topics, such as the protection of intellectual property, affecting small and medium sized IT enterprises.
In addition to workshops, ‘i-Ntrepreneurs Day’, which is supported by Bahrain Development Bank, will feature a panel session where experts will share their knowledge and opinions with the assembled entrepreneurs. The panel will include Raffael Marty, the chief executive of data visualization specialists Pixlcloud USA, and Mohammed Al Fardan, a successful venture capitalist from Bahrain.
Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of Hilal Conference and Exhibitions (HCE), the organisers of the iTECH Gulf 2014 Forum and Exhibition, said: “SMEs are the backbone of any economy, whatever the sector. The i-entrepreneurs sessions at iTECH Gulf 2014 looks to harness and develop the expertise of individuals to develop successful and sustainable IT and ICT enterprises, in keeping with Bahrain’s 2030 economic vision.
“In a broader sense, the i-Ntrepreneurs sessions are an opportunity for key stakeholders around the region to get together to share best practice and promote new initiatives, particularly within the context of the GCC Future Entrepreneurs initiative, which will ultimately play a vital role in continued economic growth across the region.”
Marty said: “In today’s market, entrepreneurship is considered to be a leap of faith into an unpredictable path of success or, in some cases, failure before the big victory.
“Entrepreneurs are innovative individuals seeking to transform a vision into a feasible, tangible and value worthy project. Risk taking is what they are known for as they believe in putting complete faith and belief into their ideas, and working twice as hard to accomplish them. This is particularly the case with i-entrepreneurs, whose businesses initially have no tangible financial value.”
HCE welcomes all delegates to sign up for the i-Ntrepreneurs session to be held at the Gulf Convention Centre, Gulf Hotel, Bahrain.
