iTECH Gulf to showcase process mining

Manama, April 7, 2014

A revolutionary approach to analysing and improving business processes will be showcased at the iTECH Gulf 2014 Exhibition, a premier international forum and exhibition for ICT, on Wednesday and Thursday in Bahrain.

Process mining is rapidly gaining acceptance as an innovative technique to analyse business processes, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The concept originated based on research conducted by a group of process professionals at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. It is now used by leading organisations around the globe.

SysProve Technologies is the local partner for the leading process mining tool Disco, developed by Netherlands-based Fluxicon Corporation.

Visitors to SysProve's stand at iTECH Gulf can have an overview of 'process mining' concept and practical methods to analyse and improve business processes.

"Process mining utilises log files available in all applications systems," said Fluxicon co-founder Dr Anne Rozinant, a researcher in process mining.

"These logs contain valuable information about the operations within an organisation. The revolutionary process mining technology in Disco can create insightful process maps directly from the raw data, automatically providing extensive detail of business processes.  Process mining has been successfully utilised by auditors and process excellence teams to analyse and improve processes within organisations," she said.

SysProve Technologies chief executive Ravi Jayasundera emphasised the need for organisations to continuously review business processes as inefficient processes results in additional cost, time wastage and most importantly, dissatisfied customers.

"With the increasing adaptation of enterprise application systems by organisations in the region to support the automation of business processes, process mining can play a significant role in helping organisations better understand deficiencies within," he said.

According to iTECH Gulf Exhibition director Ahmed Suleiman, Sysprove and Eindhoven University are market innovators in process mining and their presence at iTECH Gulf is important.

"This would provide companies and individuals the opportunity to see a major tool for efficient operation of businesses around the world," he said.
