Sebastian Madden
iTECH Gulf to feature cyber security expert
Manama, April 2, 2014
The upcoming inaugural iTECH Gulf 2014 Forum in Bahrain will feature an international cyber security expert who will deliver a keynote speech exploring the latest trends in the sector and the effectiveness of cyber security policy and training.
Sebastian Madden, a high profile cyber security practitioner, is currently group director of Protection Group International, a privately-owned British intelligence and security company set up in 2013 which also provides training and consultancy services to clients around the world.
“Company demand for high-tech security software is increasing, yet it is only effective when staff are fully equipped and trained to handle unpredictable cyber attacks from hackers,” Madden said.
Madden has an illustrious career history with a number of high profile appointments. Between 2002 and 2005 he was Chief of Staff to the UK’s National Security Advisor, where he coordinated, strengthened and resourced national security, intelligence, cyber and civil emergency structures.
Immediately prior to joining PGI, which focuses on national authorities to create centres of excellence, providing training and technology solutions for government departments, and military and law enforcement, he worked as a strategic consultant, specialising in government cyber and national security structures.
One of his main accomplishments was when he worked with the UK government and industry to define the structures necessary for operational co-operation to tackle cyber threats. He is also a member of the cyber advisory panel to Ploughshare Innovations, which manages technology transfer on behalf of the UK’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.
Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director, Hilal Conference & Exhibitions (HCE), the organisers of iTECH Gulf 2014, said: “Cyber Security training is becoming essential for businesses of all sizes around the world as they seek to defend themselves against hackers who will stop at nothing to steal valuable data. You can never know enough about cyber security for today’s business and society, so having one of the world’s foremost experts offer his perspectives at iTECH Gulf 2014 is of tremendous benefit for delegates, and specifically for businesses in the Northern Gulf region.”
HCE welcomes all delegates to register for Sebastian Madden’s ‘Cyber Security’ session on Thursday 10 April by visiting www.itechgulf.com
