Dubai gears up for ArabNet summit

Dubai, March 19, 2014

For the second year in a row, Dubai will be hosting the region’s largest gathering of leaders in digital business and entrepreneurship, the ArabNet Digital Summit 2014, in June.

More than 130 international and regional speakers along with over 1000 attendees and 50 fast growing digital SMEs will be attending the event to be held at Atlantis, The Palm from June 3 to 5.

The summit aims to grow the digital sector in the region by connecting Arab businesses with global industry leaders, said the organisers.

The Digital Summit will feature a Forum Track, which will explore the latest developments in e-business, including e-commerce, digital marketing and advertising, social media, and mobile, as well the technologies disrupting traditional markets.

This track will also highlight the hottest technology trends, such as 3D printing, wearable technology, mobile wallets, and more, they stated.

Leaders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem—including angel and VC investors, accelerators, NGOs and government stakeholders - will join the Startup Track to have in-depth discussions about supporting entrepreneurs through the life cycle of their company, from ideation to product development to multinational expansion.

The Digital Summit also includes the Insights Track, which presents case studies, white papers, focused stats, and heated debates revolving around the latest digital trends in Mena region.

Running parallel to the main tracks is the side track that is packed with workshops, networking sessions, and press conferences, said the organisers.

The summit’s agenda also includes various exciting activities, ranging from a networking cocktail reception to invitation-only roundtables, it added.

The third day will hold the Developer Championship, where the 16 top developers from different Arab countries who won in their country’s tournament will compete head-to-head for the title of Top Coder.

Speed networking is the latest addition to ArabNet’s events: it was featured for the first time in ArabNet Beirut 2014 and was a highlight of the conference. Building on its initial success, ArabNet will again organize speed networking sessions at the Digital Summit, said the event organisers.

Online registration for the summit begins today with special discounts for students and youth, they added.-TradeArabia News Service
