Aveva software for engineering plant design
Paris, March 12, 2014
Aveva, a leader in engineering design and information management solutions for the plant, power and marine industries, said Paul Wurth, an engineering company in the iron and steel industry, has implemented its Everything3D (Aveva E3D) plant design software.
Paul Wurth will benefit from enhanced capabilities, improved integration and global work-sharing by using this with other tools from the Aveva Integrated Engineering and Design suite of solutions, said a statement.
Nicolas Leclaire, head of engineering applications at Paul Wurth, said: “We piloted an alternative solution for 18 months, but as projects grow ever larger and become technically more challenging, it could not offer us the scalability of Aveva E3D.”
Georges Schreiner, head of quality and IT business solutions, said: “In addition, we need a wide range of design and engineering tools that integrate seamlessly and enable projects to be worked on across multiple sites. Aveva Everything3D will save us time and cost across the whole design process by eliminating unnecessary rework, both in the design office and in construction, keeping us competitive in an ever-changing environment.”
Aveva E3D utilises the latest technology innovations in mobile computing, cloud computing and laser scanning to enable lean methods in plant project execution, said the statement.
It is part of Aveva’s Integrated Engineering and Design approach which improves project efficiency and reduces engineering and design costs by offering complementary products that draw on common processes, disciplines and deliverables, through a single managed information model, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
