Nawras is set to launch upgraded VSat services across Oman with the iDirect Evolution Platform, which will help the operator to deliver services such as enterprise connectivity, Scada and mobility.

 

IDirect is a leader in satellite-based IP communications technology, said a statement.

 

The oil and gas market in the Sultanate is among the emerging markets in the Sultanate which stands to benefit from this extension of services, it said.

 

As a major industry in Oman, oil and gas typically operates across remote locations throughout the country. Nawars will be able to deliver reliable communications between remote locations through the iDirect platform.

 

Evolution will also help Nawras in enhancing its fast-growing cellular backhaul business, allowing for higher network efficiency, lowering bandwidth utilisation and cost.
