Tech giants back top Qatar ICT event

Qitcom 2014, Qatar’s largest ICT event which includes a feature a conference, exhibition and regional awards programme, will be sponsored by leading technology organisations and government departments.
Vodafone Qatar, part of the global mobile communications network, is confirmed as the event’s Pearl sponsor, while Qatar satellite company Es’hailSat will sponsor Qitcom 2014 at platinum level and confirmed silver sponsors include Technoserve. The Ministry of the Interior will be honourary sponsor of the event.
The third edition of Qitcom, organised by top PR agency fischerAppelt, qatar in collaboration with the Ministry of ICT (ictQATAR), will be held from May 26 to 28 at Qatar National Convention Center, and will showcase the growth and aspirations of Qatar’s ICT sector and how global technological advances can support Qatar’s economic diversification.
Vodafone Qatar will display its latest technological developments in the largest gathering of technology companies under one roof, and give visitors the opportunity to experience its latest developments, as well as review new promotions.
Qatar satellite company Es’hailSat is about to launch its first satellite, which will provide TV, voice, Internet, corporate and government services across Mena and beyond. Over the next decade, it aims to have a global fleet or six or more independent satellites, controlled and managed from Qatar.
Qitcom 2014 will provide it with a platform to showcase new developments and forthcoming satellites, which will assist Qatar with its ICT expansion to meet the needs of the FIFA World Cup 2022, as well as increasing the capacity of multimedia communications as required by telecommunications companies and broadcasters.
Silver sponsor Technoserve ensures integrated systems for high-end products, particularly interactive TV and digital sign boards for hotels, hospitals and residential compounds.
The Ministry of Interior’s sponsorship of Qitcom 2014 comes within a framework of cooperation and coordination with ictQATAR, to highlight the numerous successful e-services and devices it has recently launched.
