Gemalto NFC solution wins global award

Dubai, November 21, 2013

A nationwide NFC deployment in Singapore powered a solution developed by Gemalto, a world leader in digital security, has won a global award at the Mobile Money and Digital Payments Conference 2013 in Dubai.

The award for Best NFC Deployment follows the successful launch of the project in 2012. Gemalto’s Allynis Trusted Services Manager (TSM) solution helps to deliver Singapore’s vision of a single NFC eco-system that allows all of Singapore’s banks, mobile network operators, merchants and other stakeholders to seamlessly introduce innovative wireless services.

This open and interoperable TSM platform acts as a hub and was designed specifically to encourage the widest possible participation of service providers, so that Singapore’s citizens can enjoy direct access to mobile services including contactless payments, ticketing and coupon schemes.

It also brings other innovative and convenient services such as NFC tag solutions for gaming, interactive advertising and promotions implemented in malls and supermarkets.

“With its compact geography and tech-savvy population, Singapore has strong assets for the speedy development of an NFC eco-system,” said Eric Claudel, senior vice president of Telecommunication for Asia and Middle East at Gemalto.

“IDA’s vision and commitment to driving forward this program is thoroughly deserving of a Global Award and Gemalto is delighted to have contributed to this success.” – TradeArabia News Service
