A top Bahrain government official has denied local media reports concerning British Telecom (BT) having chosen Bahrain for its regional headquarter.

A statement issued by Minister of State for Communications Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa said that claims "regarding BT having selected Bahrain as their Mena headquarters are false. BT has discussed the matter of establishing their regional IP Exchange in Bahrain, but has not made any decision on the matter", according to the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication. – TradeArabia News Service
