Du launches ‘data manager’ app

Dubai, November 13, 2013

UAE's telecom operator du has launched the new ‘Data Manager’ app, for post-paid customers to stay on top of their data usage.

The app, available in English and Arabic for iOS and Android devices, allows customers to monitor and track their data in real time, including current usage, available balance, expiry date of current data bundle and expected usage, said a statement.

It also lets customers see what functions are consuming the most data and has adjustable alerts to inform users when their data balance reaches specific points of consumption, it said.

Other features include ‘My Data,’ to view currently subscribed-to data bundles, and ‘Buy Data,’ where customers can top up their data balance at the touch of a button. A help and FAQ section provides guidance for using the app, while any unanswered questions can be directed to du’s team through the ‘Contact Us’ function.

Fahad Al Hassawi, chief commercial officer, said: “The du Data Manager app is another way in which we are bringing more convenience to our customers’ lives. By making data monitoring and management as simple as pushing a button, our customers can enjoy peace of mind in knowing that they will always be connected to what matters most to them.”

A version compatible with Windows and BlackBerry platforms will be launched soon, he said. - TradeArabia News Service
