Forum to promote technological innovation

More than 70 IT professionals, academic experts and students will take part in a forum aimed at promoting capacity building and technological entrepreneurship in Dubai this week.
The 12th edition of the TechForum will take place at the headquarters of the Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), an integrated free zone technology park, in partnership with leading telecom operator Etisalat, on November 12.
Focusing on the concept of ‘Augmented Reality’ and its various facets, the session will review the huge uptake of this technology and the opportunities it has created in the Mena region, said a statement.
Adnan Juma Al Bahar, vice president, marketing and corporate communications at DSO Authority, said: “The conference provides an excellent platform to network and an opportunity for like-minded people to exchange ideas and learn about innovative technologies that play a determining factor in the IT industry.
“It is our aim to encourage new talent and entrepreneurship and use the offering of the DSO infrastructure to bring ideas to life".
The event is supported by Silicon Oasis Founders, an incubation centre owned by DSOA that fosters local entrepreneurial talents in the promising mobile application space and related technologies, Silicon Oasis Ventures and the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai based at the Dubai Silicon Oasis. - TradeArabia News Service
